From The World Of WhalerLand

11-28-03. The Aeons got together early this morning to do some serious rocking. The played through a new song of Mike's called "Run" and then devoted an hour plus to "Valhalla (Viking Killer)". The structure was worked out and practiced a few times, and will truly blow you away when they play it at the December 20th show. There was also talk of possible studio recordings.

11-26-03. Lewis and Mike got together to work out possible setlists and finish some songs. Wilson showed up as usual and played some drums. They finished the lyrics to new song "Valhalla (Viking Killer)" which is to be played at the next show, which is on December 20th at the Underworld once more.

11-23-03. Mike got Angel and Lewis over for a jam session with Jonny Wilson. They rocked out on "The Devil's Den", a compostion sure to shatter your eardrums in the near future. They also recorded the reggae jam and then tried to sneak into Wilson's house.

11-21-03. Angel was MIA today, so Jonny Wilson filled in on the drums. They played through a couple different songs and then played HALO the rest of the night.

11-14-03. Strange Aeons played a few covers to see what might fit into future setlists. Look for them soon.

10-17-03. The Whalers, now Strange Aeons rocked their fourth show at the Underworld. They followed the extremely evil Hemlock and rocked out decently. The setlist was almost the same as last time with the exception of "Breaking The Law"  instead of "Beat It". Mike had some trouble with his pedal but other than that it was pretty good.

9-15-03. In the continuing flurry of activity, the band prepared to rock and followed through. "I Hate Cats" is no longer about cats, but it does rock a lot more. So they rocked that and "Breaking The Law." Both songs will be played at the next show. That show happens to be on October 17th, at the good old Underworld with E Town Concrete.

9-12-03. The Whalers recorded (much to Ryan's liking) "Totally Unexpected," and "I'll Remember" (formerly "Wussy Song #4").

9-8-03. Upon Angel's insistence The Whalers practiced once more in a two-day period. Something got done today: "Low Shoulder," "A Call To Arms," and "Vigo" were recorded. And Lewis and Angel ate triple cheeseburgers at Burger King while Ryan watched.

9-7-03. The Whalers worked on one of Mike's new riffs and the good news is that riff has the potential to become a cool song. The bad news is absolutely nothing else was accomplished that day. Briana, Chelsea, Liz, Suzanne and Allison crowded into the shack and enjoyed a listen.

8-30-03. The Whalers' third big show had its good parts and its bad parts. The good parts: 18 Whaler friends came out, The Whalers played really well, and people dug them. The bad parts: Ryan got stung by a bee at Lewis' house, his mic was not on for half of "Beat It," Terry cut their performance short, eliminating "Low Shoulder," Ryan's cable was stolen by C.I.E., and The Whalers, who helped them out a lot, got no props from them. But it was pretty much agreed that The Whalers rocked really well.

8-28-03. As the pre-show ritual goes, Phil came to the shack to listen to The Whalers and headbang and bitch. They played their songs and sweated a lot.

8-22-03. And then a Friday practice. Yeah, things are hectic with school looming and the show approaching. But Suzanne and Allison witnessed the musical asskicking that is The Whalers' set. Breathe deeply. Taste that? There's excitement in air.

8-18-03. What? Practice on a Monday?! Damn right, deal with it. The Whalers went through their set list for the Aug. 30th show several times, once for Suzanne and Allison who came by. It's sounding better everytime. The band also saw Freddy vs. Jason and it was pretty cool.

8-14-03. It's been a while since the last practice, but The Whalers haven't forgotten how to rock. Although it was a short practice, much was done and they are fairly well prepared for the next show. Speaking of the next show, it will be on Saturday, August 30th at The Underworld. Be there or be killed!

7-25-03. Not since 2 weeks ago have The Whalers been at such an awesome concert. Ryan, Lewis, Angel and Phil all went to see Iron Maiden, Dio and Motorhead in New Jersey. The show kicked plenty of ass, but the ride home was death. The horrible directions plus Phil's stupidness turned the 3 hour trip into a 9 hour endurance and tolerance contest with Ryan driving the whole time and everyone having to pay the insane amount of tolls. All have agreed that Jersey sucks and should fall into the ocean.

7-24-03. There was a pretty swell practice today. There was rocking and planning and stuff. Then The Whalers plus Jonny Wilson and Phil Warner went to the Stroud Mall and then ate at Pizza Hut.

7-12-03. Not since 6-29-02 have The Whalers witnessed such an awesome event as this: METALLICA came to Philly and rocked the Vet. They kicked unprecedented amounts of ass and all of The Whalers cheered and headbanged along in a stadium full of beer, smoke and crazy people. Also playing were Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, who each rocked a little, plus Mudvayne and The Deftones, who did not rock at all. Mike, Lewis and Angel each saw 30+ boobs, but after the show, Ryan got 3 girls to show their boobs.

7-10-03. There was band practice today, but no one will ever know what happened, because the site was not updated soon enough and everyone forgot about it.

7-3-03. The Whalers celebrated Independence Day early by rocking old school. They bought Ryan a pedal from The Music Store in Stroudsburg and then recorded badass versions of "Carpe Diem," "The War Song," and "Low Shoulder."

6-28-03. Where there's free food, free drinks, and fireworks there will be Whalers. Brendan had all three so The Whalers rocked at his graduation party. They played just about every song the know. Later, Jonny Wilson played "Wish You Were Here" with Mike.

6-19-03. ~BONG~ Look out cuz Lewis got himself a 5 string Ibanez bass. It is quite rocking and was put to the test with the band's awesome practice today. The guys worked on some badass new songs and ate really old birthday cake.

6-18-03. ...Happy birthday dear Angel, happy birthday to you. It's that time of the year again, and there was a sleep-over at Mike's house with some rocking to celebrate. Angel is finally 17 and may the good times continue to (rock and) roll.

6-12-03. The Whalers are back in the shack! The shack looks cooler than ever now with its fixed up appearance and awesome new things. Mike got his fancy, new ESP guitar from Dave Phillips and it kicks major ass. Angel's mom gave the guys gift certificates to Victor's Music Exchange. Ryan got a guitar stand, Mike got strap locks and Lewis got strap locks and a strap for an acoustic guitar.

6-5-03. Oi Oi Oi!!! School is done with and the rocking is just getting started. Ryan got his Cadillac, and everyone got St. Anger. Then they went to Dave Phillips again and Ryan got his new guitar and a strap which both rock. There was much kick ass rocking going on. On the way home, Ryan and Lewis had another unwanted car adventure. The Caddy broke down so they had to walk to Kinsley's where Joe helped them out.

5-30-03. Think rockin'... really rockin'. That's just what went down on this Thursday. The gang cruised in Ryan's car to the Dave Phillips in New Jersey to get Mike a new guitar. Not only did he end up putting one on layaway, Ryan did too! So there will soon be two ESPs in The Whalers' arsenal. They also made a badass new song called "A Call To Arms" which will cause things to die.

5-15-03. Oh yeah? Yeah! Ooooo. Lewis, Ryan and Angel had cheeseburgers with pink and orange drinks before Mike arrived. Then The Whalers rocked as usual. They walked, like in the olden days, over to the Hilltop Market place and wandered around. Angel's mom made a strange food out of meat and bananas which was too foreign for everyone except Angel. After practice, Ryan took Lewis home where they looked at rocking pictures and viewed stuff on Lewis' ultra fast computer.

5-8-03. This practice contained no content. It was unproductive and unorganized. Mike left early to work, and the rest of the guys had cheeseburgers and tried to create a new song.

5-2-03. Multimedia Mayhem 2003 rolled into town and The Whalers rocked it. It was a great show with Jeff Kerby soloing, Jimmie Kleintop and Joe Stone also soloing, but it lacked jugglers and fire. Due to technical difficulties, Ryan played a BC Rich. The guys played "The Devil," "The War Song," "Vigo," "Carpe Diem: Rock 'n' roll," and Angel did a drum solo in the middle somewhere.

5-1-03. This was a swell practice. Phil was there to assist in recording "Vigo." The Whalers, plus Phil, went to the Salvation Army and picked up some cool wear like Mike's "Das Komet" hat. After more rocking Mike went home. Soon after he returned in his pajamas and then everyone rocked 10 times as much for some reason. A hip new song was played a few times and it might involve Tony Hawk and other punk things.

4-24-03. The Whalers kind of practiced today. Ryan made himself audible but there was very little playing because of certain females who were present. After the short session, Lewis and Ryan went to Stroudsburg and ordered their extra fancy tuxedos for the prom. Then Ryan bought Metallica's "Whiplash" single and they rocked on home.

4-23-03. The Whalers auditioned for, and were immediately accepted into, the 2003 Multimedia Mayhem show to be held on Friday, May 2nd. There they will be rocking with the likes of Morning After, better known as The Jeff Kerby Band, Jimmie Kleintop and some untalented losers. Be there!

4-17-03. Another Thursday, another Whaler practice. The band rocked and just as they sat down to eat, Jon Wilson showed up once more and ate the Whalers' food. Angel's mom said, "No freaking, only chicken cutlets." Then the guys went to CVS where they ran into Wilson once more. After that they went to Mr. Z's, ate old fragels and got ice cream for Angel's mom. Once all the cruising was done, they rocked some more.

4-10-03. Not much was accomplished at this practice, other than Mike, Angel, and Lewis rocking out on a long instrumental metal song. The boys then took a ride out to Dave Phillips to check out the guitars and whatnot and rocked out to Apocalyptica in the car.

4-8-03. Lewis turns 18 and therefore is cooler than thou!

4-5-03. The Whalers' second paying show. Despite Lewis and Ryan being 2 hours late to Angel's house, the band made it to the show on time and performed their most rockin' live set to date. They went on second following a bong rock cover band to a severely Whaler fan scarce crowd. Due to the weather, work schedules, and lack of enthusiam concerning promotion on the part of The Whalers, the crowd dropped from a mighty 60 at the last show to considerably less mighty 19 at the this show but the fans that did show up were awesome as usual. It was also discovered that The Teenage Girls (the thick frame, middle aged, uber poseur, suck rock band from the 2-22-03 show) were bitching out The Whalers on their site so feel free to visit them at www.teenagestyle.com and make your feelings known about that unfoundedly arrogant band dissing your favorite unfoundedly arrogant band The Whalers.

4-3-03. Excitement was in the air, along with Jon Wilson and Lewis' lil bro, due to the upcoming show. The Whalers made the final set list which contains all the fans' favorites and some never-before-played-live songs. Before any of that happened though, Ryan got kicked out of Victor Music Exchange when he put a white strap on the Flying V.

3-27-03. Speaking of rocking out, that's exactly what The Whalers did today. After eating bacon pizza from Big Cheese and Ryan destroying Lewis 7-3 in air hockey, the band proceded to haul ass. They rehearsed the 8 or so songs they plan to play at the April 5th show. Jon Wilson came through a window and listened for a while. They also recorded a pretty badass version of "Low Shoulder."

3-13--15-03. THURSDAY: The Whalers had a rockin' practice and ate at The Effort Diner. Lewis and Angel wrote a song about Kelley, the hot chick in Ryan's magazine. Ryan and Lewis slept over Angel's house. FRIDAY: They had pancakes in the morning. They also rocked. They played the cool new song. Angel bought some cool new cymbals with the money from the show after breaking one. SATURDAY: Only a few hours of rocking and then they ate at The Chestnuthill Diner.

2-22-03. The big night. The Whalers' first live, paying gig. Needless to say, it was pretty cool. They brought in 60, that's right, 60 great fans. Their performance was pushed back twice because Terry wanted people to stick around. Before The Whalers could take the stage, Ryan's guitar fell to the floor and the G string's tuning knob broke off. Dan of C.I.E. lent Ryan his SG. Angel experienced some drum problems, but the show went pretty swell aside from that. Now the band plans on practicing even more.

2-20-03. A totally rockin' practice went down today. Jon Wilson was there to give criticism and to rock out with his new white guitar. The Whalers were doing OK until they took a pizza break and watched Ryan's Rush DVD. After that, they kicked ass. It was probably because Rush is so cool.

2-13-03. The boys finally got down to some real show practice. Lewis' brother Phil was there to listen and give his opinion. They eventually decided on a final set list, it goes like this: Low Shoulder, I Hate Cats, Beat It, 13 For 13, The War Song, Buttsex, and Vigo. It's the show everyone's talking about. So be there or be rectangular.. or something.

2-6-03. The Whalers should have been practicing hard for the upcoming show but they weren't. There was far too much slacking. Ryan supposedly screwed up the Mac & Cheese. And they left before the snow started.

2-1-03. New month, new practice. On an unprecedented 3rd practice in 3 days, The Whalers rocked royally on "Low Shoulder" and "Vigo." They also planned things for the Underworld show such as where they'd be on stage and what songs they'd play. Later, they went to Mike's house and watched Starship Troopers while Mike's dog attacked Lewis.

1-30 & 1-31-03. Two back to back days of rocking out. On Thursday The Whalers practiced a number of songs for the upcoming show. It was also the first time they played with the 2 new amps (Mike's Crate and Ryan's Marshall). On Friday they jammed some more and Suzanne listened and took pictures. Mike left after a short time and the rest of the night was spent goofing off.

1-24-03. Mike took Allison, Suzanne and Ryan to Dave Phillips Music in Phillipsburg, New Jersey today. And after much talk and antici...pation, Ryan finally threw down a pile of money and bought a Marshall AVT 100. It is very large and awesome. In case you haven't heard, The Whalers will be playing their first ever live, paying gig at the Underworld in Sciota on February 22nd! Mark that date on your calendars and don't forget to go watch them rock out.

1-23-03. School children took their finals today, and The Whalers were no exception, but then they rocked. Mike stayed home partly to illness and partly to tend to his grandfather. The other Whalers were rocking though. Lewis and Ryan ate Mac & Cheese while Angel played guitar for them. Then they worked on a new song about Vigo (of Ghostbusters fame).

1-16-03. All 4 Whalers had a practice today! They rocked old school on the old songs and some possible new ones. As they went to leave, they noticed the ground was white with snow. In order to avoid going up Lewis' death hill, Ryan and Lewis found themselves in the middle of no where. Ryan was driving slowly but they still ended up in a big ditch. No one died, but time was lost and there was coldness and Ryan's car in a big ditch.

1-9-03. Ryan and Lewis practiced with Angel at his house. They had to go get the bass amp which was at Mike's and Ryan sped through a yellow light in the process. After rocking and eating pizza, they played Goldeneye because it rules and Ryan beat them both soundly.

1-2-03. Mike and Angel went to Lewis's house (that's right they were in his house) for a "writing" session. Not much writing was accomplished for they spent most of their time listening to Running Wild CDs. And Mike was overcome by the shear awesomeness of the Darth Maul lightsaber and extended it over and over again.

12-22-02. It has been a full month since all 4 Whalers played together. But they have their reasons. Ryan works then Angel complains, Mike glowers and Lewis shakes his fist. Mike just got a job working at The Crossings and practices will be held on Thursdays from now on.

12-12-02. The Whalers were without Lewis at this semi-practice at Angels but they were still able to haul. Mike jumped on bass to fill in for a bit, and later on in the night Mike and Angel created some new songs that are sure to shatter your eardrums in the near future.

11-29-02. The Whalers were terribly unproductive today. Angel was in New York so there were only 3 Whalers at Mike's. And they weren't in the shack, they were in the very room were The Whalers were formed over a year and a half ago. The Whalers went out for pizza and played the TMNT arcade game. Upon returning home, they played very quietly because Mike's folks were in the house. They also watched movies and played pool.

11-22-02. Mike demonstrated his powerfully loud, new Crate amp he got at today's practice. And then we played "Buttsex." So there was a lot of good, loud "Buttsex." And that's about all there was to it.

11-8-02. Not only was Mike the last one to arrive at the shack, but he also had to tend to the fire and his grandfather. Despite that, it was a kickass practice. The Whalers tore through many of their songs. They also jammed on a new wussy song of Lewis'. It was very cool and wussy. There was also discussion and planning about the playing of shows.

11-1-02. This could be called the laziest practice ever. There was no recording at all. Though it would have been cool if we hit the record button before we played a 15 minute long Mummrah. That's right, it was hella long and awesome. The practice almost didn't happen in the first place due to the severe road conditions and the weather. There was much talking about playing shows, buying amps and stuff about women. Ryan also managed to cut his thumb with one of Mike's knives and he bled a lot.

10-27-02. Egad! Practice on Sunday??? Sort of...In preparation for the actual playing of shows Mike called The Whalers to the shack for a Sunday gettogether. Ryan couldn't attend because he was too busy making money at his lame job. So Mike, Lewis, and Angel approached the task of finishing all unfinished songs and coming up with brilliant ideas in the process. They even managed to create a new song. It's called "13 Years for 13 Bucks" and is about the Shop Rite incident. Pizza was NOT eaten and things were accomplished. Does that mean something? Hopefully not, because Lewis enjoys eating pizza and not paying for it.

10-25-02. Be happy, for The Whalers are settling into a regular Friday practice schedule. There was much playing of "Wussy Song #4" and a heavy version of "Wussy Song #3." The Whalers feasted on bacon-pizza. Angel got new drumsticks. Mike had to travel to his grandfather's a lot. And it's been revealed that the marker board drawing of The Whalers in action cannot be erased! So it is now a permanent, cool-looking watermark.

10-15-02. It is October and it's getting to be cold in the shack. There were cold fingers and hands, especially with Angel who lost control of a drum stick which almost hit Lewis. When Lewis went outside to pee, Mike locked the door. That caused Lewis to attempt to get in through the window. He got stuck, of course, in a painful, yet hilarious position. In important news, a new song was created, but not finished. "Low Shoulder" it's called. It may or may not be about death. We also turned the lights off and played/recorded an awesome, psychedelic version of Mummrah.

10-1-02. The first day of the month featured the 1st Whaler practice of the month. Ryan called off work to attend the practice. It turned out to be a good one with a very nice version of "The War Song" being recorded. Ryan and Angel went and got the pizza. Later they attempted to kill a mosquito, but were unsuccessful. And Ryan lost a few strands of hair to Mike's sword for playing the drums too much.

9-24-02. It's been almost a month since they've last been heard from musically, but The Whalers returned with a rockin' after school practice today. Jon and Matt showed up and listened a bit. The hungry Whalers went to a pizza place to find a "Closed Tuesdays" sign on their door. What the hell kind of business is closed on Tuesdays? Anyway, The Whalers did eat pizza then went back to the shack to rock. Allison got some more hot, Whaler action on videotape. "Mummrah" was recorded, "The War Song" was not, unfortunately. At the end of the day, Lewis broke the D string on Ryan's SG and nearly lost an eye.

9-23-02. Whaler, Mike, and Whalerette, Chelsea both turn 17 today. A very Happy Birthday to both of them.

9-17-02. Mike, Lewis, and Angel had another semi-practice. Allison stopped by to tape the lads playing and whatnot and they proceeded to play mediocrely. While showing Mike the new kickass song, the drawers on Angel's TV cabinet opened up which was freaky. This also marked the first practice where Lewis used his Rickenbacker bass. Angel also added an incredibly hilarious drum part to Buttsex (how can a drum part be funny? Will Lewis's wild kicking of his legs be proof enough?). And the crowning achievement of the entire night was Mike's screwup on the second verse of the new "I Hate Cats" in which he says "more than ha-ats" which had Lewis near to peeing his pants with laughter. Geez, he laughs at anything.

9-13-02. Since Mike is now employed he had to go get trained and Ryan was working too. So Lewis went over to El Ganya (Angel's shack/shed) to play some music. They started off with some wussy songs as was expected but after Angel showed Lewis a guitar part he wrote the two created the absolute downright coolest damn song ever. After playing it a few times they decided to break and get pizza. After exiting the pizza place they ran into Suzanne's parents (not literally) and were told of some Church that's not a church shindig. Interesting, right? Well later, signed the Whaler.

8-30-02. The Whalerettes Vice-President, Suzanne, turns 16 today. Hurray!

8-28-02. The Whalers had their first practice in a damn long time today. Despite the extended break, they found their groove pretty quickly and tore through many Whaler classics. Looking for an eviler edge, a heavy song or two got semi-worked out. Mike had to tend to the grandfather for a while so Lewis went and recorded a good deal of "You And I."

8-17-02. Ryan got his senior driver's license today. There will be much celebrating with purchases containing nicotine and naked ladies.

7-29-02. Today's practice will be the last for a while as Mike visits his parents' native Poland and Ryan continues being employed. Briana and Suzanne came by and listened to the very newest Whaler tunes. Angel's mom went and got Burger King for us. And Ryan brought the Rickenbacker over and everyone enjoyed playing it.

7-13-02. Today is Ryan's 18th birthday. Bahahahahaha.. ahahahahaha.. muwahahahaha.. oh yeah.

7-10-02. The Whalers had a practice at Angel's house with a little help from Phil (Lewis' brother). We recorded a few more songs for the album. "The Coolest Song Ever Written" also came into being. For once The Whalers did not feast on pizza, they had "hamburgers" and hotdogs cooked up by Angel's mom.

6-29-02. Half of The Whalers, Mike and Ryan, saw Rush at Montage Mountain. It was the single coolest event in the history of mankind. There were lasers and fire. The Whalers will never be as cool as Rush.

6-27-02. God damn it was hot today, almost too hot for a Whaler practice at Angel's house, but not quite. We wasted a whole bunch of time slacking and chatting. Then we went out for pizza, walking 4-wide, some kid asked us if we were in a band, I guess we just have that look. We ran home in the rain and almost died because we're so out of shape. We recovered and did some more recording, look for it in stores soon.

6-19-02. Boy was today ever fun! Whalerettes Briana, Chelsea, Marissa and Suzanne showed up to watch The Whalers play at Angel's house. It was an awesome outdoor show despite a couple rain drops. The Whalers had gone through most of their set when Walter Hansen showed up and informed us that we were too loud and needed to shut down. So we went to Angel's cousin's and played in the basement. We introduced The Whalerettes to "Buttsex" and they liked it a lot.

6-18-02. Angel gets with the program and turns 16. Hurray for him.

6-17-02. The Whalers began recording songs for their first full-length Gone Whalin'. But unfortunately the tape got messed up somehow and everything needs to be redone. If you need your Whaler fix, we released a new demo, Odostikz, that has a bunch of songs on it. Check it out and give Lewis the other one back!

6-4-02. Wooohooo!!! The Whalers have reunited and had a great practice today. You couldn't tell we haven't played together in 6 or so weeks, we were just as awesome as ever. Actually did something productive too, we finished 2 songs, "I Hate Cats" and "Wussy Song #4." Since it's summer, there will probably be more practices which means better sound and possible recordings and playing places.

4-22-02. Well, it's official. This is the official website, it's not like we'd be posting bullshit...anyway, as of today at approximately 10:30AM, Mike announced that the Whalers have "disbanded". Take it easy folks, don't go into cardiac arrest, we're just taking a break from our hectic schedule of practices every week. So don't worry, we'll be back and better than ever. With a CD no less. So until then, take it easy.

4-20-02. THE WHALERS KICKED ALL ASS!!! The Whalers played their first live show today, and they were great. They were far superior to the other bands, who we won't bother mentioning. The Whalers managed to sound pretty good despite the hugely stupid system the school had set up. They played "Beat It", "The Rise and Fall of Mummrah", and "The War Song." The fan club was there, and there was much cheering.

4-12-02. After auditioning yesterday The Whalers were informed that they are indeed in the Multimedia Mayhem Show. Yes, organized mayhem. They play third in the 2nd act.

4-9-02. It was hot as hell in the shack for 4 hours today. It musta been 60 degrees outside, and rainy too, but the real action was inside. We must have done "Beat It" and "The War Song" a dozen times, practicing for Thursday's auditions. Get this, Angel did not have to pee once during the practice. Near the end, Lewis' brother came in and gave us a listen, he seemed to like it. And as we walked outside, we saw a large frog hopping about, it was cool.

4-8-02. Lewis joins the cool crowd by turning 17. Hurray for him.

4-5-02. We had somewhat of a Whaler practice today. Angel couldn't make it, so it was like an old time Whaler practice. Mike, Lewis and Ryan got behind the drums at one point during the night. Ryan's time there, being rhythmless, wasn't so pleasant. We recorded a couple quick songs, without the usual Whaler perfection. Seeing as it was the 8th aniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, we played our "Smells Like Columbine Spirit." Angel's PA system got fixed and Ryan yelled his voice away again.

3-26-02. Let's see, what happened this time? We went though our entire play list which we plan on doing at that Multimedia show. We recorded another good version of "An Ode To Lulu." Ryan screamed his cool voice away because Lewis' lame PA system couldn't be heard. And we managed to survive the massively rainy weather.

3-15 & 3-16-02. Two straight days of 6 hour practices. Friday consisted of a lot of playing and polishing of songs. Saturday was the recording day. We recording the new version of "The War Song," which is no longer "The War Song," with Lewis doing the singing. Recorded in a single take, "An Ode To Lulu," was sung by Ryan with Lewis and Mike backing him up. Other things that happened included Lewis being momentarily shirtless, and there were heated discussions about cats, brought on by Mike watching too much Discovery Channel.

3-9-02. Today marks the 1 year aniversary of The Whalers. It was a full year ago that Ryan and Mike got together to jam and ended up forming a band. The band has grown, expanded and improved itself in those 365 days. More of the same can be expected in the future.

3-8-02. The Whalers had another practice where they fine tuned most of their songs. Unfortuneatly Ryan could not attend due to school related trips. A new tape was created and will be in circulation soon.

3-5-02. Muwahahaha!! After almost 1 year without drums, finally they have arrived. Angel stopped by The Whalers' shack with his drumset today. The Whalers jammed on all their favorite tunes while Angel added his kick ass drum sound.

2-15-02. A few things worthy of mention happened at the latest Whaler practice. Due to Lewis' love of Ghostbusters, The Whalers learned the Ghostbusters' theme song. We changed the name of "The Heroin Song" to "The Rise And Fall Of Mummrah." It is an instrumental. We played in the dark for a while which, according to Mike, helps to improve playing. And because Ryan wouldn't stop playing non-Whaler material, Mike threw Ryan's pen at him and it broke upon contact with his head.

11-13-01. The Whalers have purchased a 4-track recorder. With Lewis' newfound, brilliant keyboard playing, we can unleash a powerful wave of talentless death upon the masses with this recording device. You've been warned.
